Help the Homeless College Students of Los Angeles

We believe that students should hunger for knowledge, and not hunger for food. That they can use their smarts on their books, not on finding a place to sleep every night.

Who are homeless college students?

5% of all UC students reported experiencing homelessness in 2017, 11% of Cal State students, and 20% of community college students in LA, experienced homelessness this past year. Check out these sources: Business Insider, NY Times, LA Times

We run a shelter for students, by students

Our shelter is run by UCLA students, which accomplishes a couple amazing feats: first, the peer-to-peer model produces a substantial yield in getting young adults housed – many of them avoid shelters because they do not feel safe in these spaces. Second, our shelter creates opportunities for student leadership. Because our UCLA student leaders operate the shelter on a nightly basis, we are paving the way for them to become the next generation of leaders in community service, social justice, and philanthropy.

Here's how you can help

We run on a shoestring budget, and our shelter is only possible thanks to generous support from people like you. One of our core tenets is strength in numbers, and you are the reason we can rent our space and keep the lights on.
